DC Linktank

It's no wonder why Promethean Professionals chose to highlight DC Linktank. Shamelessly stolen from the Linktank web header, their motto correlates perfectly with our goal: providing tools and information to the lifelong learner. Bear in mind this site is most beneficial for residents of the DC area.
The site itself is fairly easy to navigate, as the soonest approaching events are listed on the main page. From here you can sort out the fields of your interest by geographical region, national or international, business or public policy, you name it. At the time of this writing some prominent events include An Armchair Conversation with Ruslana Lyzhychko from the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), Destroying Syria's Chemical Weapons: One Year Later, and one I am personally excited about Georgetown University's Financial Markets Quality Conference.
Many of the events are free and all of them provide a unique insight into what global administration and private industry leaders are actually doing in the modern world. You do need to register for DC Linktank, but let's face it, between all of your social media accounts, school and/or work you can adhere to another username and password in for the sake of your future career. So if International Studies, Political Science, Business or Economics suit your fancy or even if they don't we can guarantee you can find an interesting event at DC Linktank.
Project Gutenberg
A vital tool for anyone needing quick access to (typically) older books without needing to pay out of pocket, Project Gutenberg (named after the Gutenberg Printing Press) is the first and one of the most well-known producer of free online E-Books.
Free books? That must be illegal!
Because many literary classics either do not have a copyright or the copyright has expired in the US (and other countries; be sure to check with your country's copyright laws before consuming or redistributing material from Project Gutenberg) they can be uploaded or downloaded at will free of charge. As of now, Project Gutenberg hosts over 45,000 digital books that can be downloaded for later, read on the web, or saved to your Kindle. A resource I wish I had in my high school English classes having to read "The Tale of Two Cities" or one of my favorites Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein" or "The Modern Prometheus".
Project Gutenberg also facilitates self-publishing for contemporary authors and has affiliates to other E-Book resources, Audio books and digitized sheet music.
